Zinc Nacional has been awarded the Made in Mexico certification by Mexico’s Ministry of Economy, a distinction that recognizes compliance with the requirements established for the use of this national mark and acknowledges products manufactured in Mexico that strengthen the country’s industrial sector through quality, reliability, and competitiveness.
The Made in Mexico certification recognizes companies that implement operational practices aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as those whose manufacturing processes create value for the national economy while meeting the highest quality standards.
With more than 70 years of operations in the state of Nuevo León, Zinc Nacional has developed a circular economy business model through which it recovers 100 percent of the steelmaking by-products generated by the Mexican steel industry and transforms them into zinc oxides and zinc sulfates. These products are then reintegrated into strategic value chains serving agriculture, livestock production, the automotive industry, paints and coatings, ceramics, and other industrial sectors.
The company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy is aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda and contributes to the achievement of multiple Sustainable Development Goals through initiatives focused on ethics and integrity, responsible resource management, environmental stewardship, employee well-being, and community development.
